Her Excellency Amb. Mrs. Alanyingi Sylva is indeed an impressive figure. Her multifaceted career not only highlights her dedication to improving health and wellbeing but also underscores her commitment to empowering women and making a significant impact on a global scale. As a health coach and humanitarian, she focuses on enhancing the lives of individuals through better health practices. Her entrepreneurial achievements further illustrate her influence, with successful ventures like Blossom Natural Food Industries Limited, Ganye Gardens Hotel, WalkTall Global Services, and Blossom Farms. Each of these businesses contributes to her vision of promoting organic products, sustainable practices, and community development. In March 2024, Her Excellency Amb. Mrs. Alanyingi Sylva participated in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) conference in New York, where she championed inclusive policies and financial mechanisms to create a world where all women and girls can thrive. She was honored with the title of Global Ambassador for the Gender Priority Strategy Movement for the Decade of Action, tasked with coordinating African countries on gender priorities. Additionally, she received the International Eminent Peace Ambassador award from the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) in 2024, recognizing her advocacy and role as a chartered fellow. Alanyingi founded the inspiring WHITE Development Initiative (Women Hub for Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative), formerly known as the African Women's Innovation Hub (AWIH). This distinguished Pan-African organization is dedicated to inspiring, empowering, supporting, and leading African women in technological innovation. The initiative operates within a carefully designed framework to address Africa’s technology gap with the following objectives: 1. Technological Solutions by Africans: Leveraging African ingenuity, the initiative aims to develop groundbreaking technological solutions tailored to the diverse needs and challenges of the continent. 2. Empowering African Women in Technology: Focusing on African women, the WHITE Development Initiative seeks to empower them in technological fields, offering exceptional opportunities for growth and advancement. The initiative has been launched in Nigeria, Rwanda, and select regions of Sudan, with plans to extend its reach to more areas across Africa in the near future. Remarkably, it has already empowered numerous African women who now occupy roles in Fortune 500 companies, secured patents, and successfully founded companies delivering innovative solutions.
Passion against all Tides
As the founder of the Centre for Gender Values and Culture, she has launched several health programs and initiatives. In 2016, she co-initiated the 1 Mother 1 Child Initiative with the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), aimed at providing mentorship and scholarships to out-of-school children nationwide. She has also forged impactful partnerships to fund essential healthcare services, surgeries, awareness campaigns, and training programs. Her philanthropic efforts have delivered high-quality medical care to economically disadvantaged children and adults both locally and internationally, positively affecting over 25,000 lives with meaningful transformations and renewed hope. Notably, Alanyingi Sylva, alongside her dedicated team of medical practitioners, played a crucial role in introducing Nigeria's first Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine for young girls and women—a groundbreaking advancement in cervical cancer prevention. This visionary initiative has safeguarded over 5,000 girls from HPV and screened more than 10,000 women for breast and cervical cancer, facilitating early detection and timely treatment. The success of this campaign has sparked a ripple effect, encouraging other states in Nigeria to adopt the HPV vaccination program.
Alanyingi Sylva's robust medical team has spearheaded several impactful initiatives, including: • The Child Survival Scheme: Raising awareness about child killer diseases and providing crucial treatments for conditions such as pneumonia, Down syndrome, and diarrhea. • Bayelsa Stay Alive Initiative: Focused on improving local health outcomes. • HIV/AIDS Peer Education Programme: Implemented in secondary schools to educate and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. • Every Life Counts: A program dedicated to enhancing healthcare for vulnerable populations. • Eye Care Awareness Programme: In collaboration with the THI Foundation, promoting eye health. • Heart-Health Community Awareness and Advocacy Program: Addressing cardiovascular health at the community level. Married to His Excellency Timipre Sylva, former Governor of Bayelsa State and past Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Alanyingi has significantly impacted society. On A Global Scale
On the international scene, Alayingi Sylva is the first woman cancer advocate who took the campaign against Cancer to other African countries. The significant one was her cancer education and awareness program in Kenya in the year 2009 which screened more than 500 women and girls free of cervical and breast cancer. Another international feat accomplished by her Excellency, was her anchoring the Women World Trade Fair as first National President strictly to ensure that women productivity efforts in Nigeria is given uninterrupted access to the international markets, this actually promoted enthusiasm in female entrepreneurs and encouraged partnerships. This and many other contributions to women and children development and endeared the attracted the African women leadership organization recognizing her and saddling her with the responsibility of leadership AWLO as serving Regional President.
